Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The Hope Inn is well-loved for its fantastic selection of beers and quality wines, drawing patrons who appreciate a good drink. Many rave about the Sunday roast, consistently rated as one of the best in the area, generous portions and flavorful accompaniments like mint and horseradish sauces often highlighted.

Live music brings an exciting element to the dining experience, making it an ideal destination for a night out. The dog-friendly policy ensures that furry friends can enjoy the atmosphere alongside their owners. Many visitors mention the warm and welcoming staff, who are quick to provide excellent service without being overwhelming. Overall, it radiates a sense of community spirit that keeps customers returning.

Most Disliked

While The Hope Inn often receives praise, a few customers have noted challenges during peak hours. The busiest times, particularly Saturday afternoons, can lead to delays in service, which some find frustrating. As a popular choice among groups, the noise level can rise, affecting the overall ambiance on particularly busy nights.

Another point of contention for some patrons is the occasional limited menu options during peak times, although these are typically balanced by the high quality of the food on offer. Guests recommend making reservations on weekends to ensure a smoother experience and avoid the hustle and bustle.

Great Atmosphere and Friendly Staff! I had a fantastic time at The Hope Inn. Last week. The pub has a really warm, welcoming vibe. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the service was quick. The food was delicious. Prices are fair. Definitely one of the best pubs in the area — I’ll be coming back soon. When I’m in the area visiting family will be defo stopping back in.

Warm welcome, Dog friendly, family friendly, 10/10 homemade meal! The food was incredible. We had the pie of the day, packed full of chicken, gammon and leak, served with all veg with chips and gravy. The dog was made to feel just as welcome as the humans. Haven’t been here since the refurb but we decided on the way home it’s going to be the new Friday night tradition. Looking forward to coming back!

I would like to thank Chris, Lauren, Millie and all the staff who were working at The Hope Inn the afternoon we held our Mothers “Dignified Get Together “ following her final journey. We booked the afternoon before Chris and Lauren took over the pub. They happily honoured our booking although they’d only been in a few weeks before our event. They were amazing. They couldn’t do enough for us. Regular communication, listened to our food requests and did a very reasonably priced buffet. Supplied requested drinks, even the sherry( Mums favourite). They made a very emotional day very dignified and beautiful. Thank you again all of you. We will be visiting again very soon soon.

Delicious food: both our starters and mains were nicely cooked and well presented. The drinks were good value. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, and they'd really made an effort for Halloween. Great experience!

The Hope has had a recent change in management so I had to pop by. Chris is very friendly, the pub is very very clean and fresh. The Harvey's is absolutely lovely too. As has always been, the views are stunning. No nagatives, I just look forward to seeing what he and Lauren get up to in rebuilding this once bustling place.
